Developmental Editing/Manuscript Critique

Developmental editing focuses on the “big picture” aspects of your story such as structure, flow, tone, character arcs, pacing, dialogue, inconsistencies and potential plot holes. This particular type of editing can be useful when you need some constructive feedback and suggestions to make your story the best it can be.

What you will receive:

• A detailed letter providing overall feedback across the whole story
• Comments and suggestions throughout the manuscript using track changes
• Very light copy editing (typos and basic punctuation)

Beta Reading

A stripped back version of a developmental edit.

Blurb Feedback

So you’ve written your book and you’re almost ready to hit publish. The only problem? Yep, that pesky blurb. You’ve looked up similar books and read all the comparable marketing material you could find, yet you still don’t know if you are on the right track. It’s okay. Sometimes authors are too close to their story and need a little outside help. So why not book in for some feedback?

• Detailed feedback and suggestions to strengthen your existing blurb

Front and Back Matter Feedback

Similar to the blurb it is important that you put thought and care into the material that comes at the start and end of your book. The best place to start is to check out the front and back matter of similar titles and adapt it into your own style to fit your novel. If you are still not sure what you should include, or would like a second opinion, this service is for you.

Topic Research

Ugh research. Just kidding. I like scouring the internet for little tidbits about random hobbies and descriptions. If you don’t and would rather focus on writing you can add this option to your editing needs.
